Careers Service

Headed by Jonathan Black, the Careers Service is one of the oldest such services in the UK and serves almost 20,000 Oxford-based student clients; many hundreds of employers seeking to attract and recruit undergraduates, post graduates, research staff and alumni; the colleges, faculties and departments of the University; and potentially the tens of thousands of University alumni.

The Careers Service aims to provide comprehensive information and impartial guidanceto students, alumni, and research staff, to enable them to make well-informed decisions about their careers. The service has a team of experienced careers advisors who can talk to students and research staff on a one-to-one basis and provide information about an occupation, industry sector, or specific organisation.

The objectives of the Careers Service are to deliver service at the place of work (in College, Department, Faculty, home, office; on new and old media), proactively network with all stakeholders, provide highly valued skills and experiences, enable recruiters to engage easily with the best job seekers and be responsive to embrace continual change.
