Divisional Offices

There are four academic divisions within the University, and the divisional administrations for each of these form part of the Academic Administration Divsion. The divisional offices have inherited much of the day-to-day work relating to planning and resource allocation, the administration of academic appointments, and the detailed supervision of education and research.

Their responsibilities cover budgeting, educational provision, and academic policy across their divisions, with a particular role in monitoring and quality assurance. Responsibility for on-course graduate administration has recently been devolved from what was the Graduate Office to the divisional administrations.

The Secretary to the University's Continuing Education Board also reports to the Academic Registrar, and is the main focal point for communication between the staff of the Central Administration and those of the department, e.g. over student administration, the Higher Education Statistics Authority (HESA) student return, fee matters, relations with Kellogg College, etc.
