Academic Data Management
The work of this section is split between:
Academic Records Office (ARO)
The Academic Records Office manages the ongoing maintenance of undergraduate student record data from registration through to the publication of final results and first transcript, including the administration of Change in Circumstance forms and examination entry. In addition the ARO also manages Postgraduate Taught records for examination entry, results and first transcripts. (Graduate Studies Assistants (GSAs) are responsible for all other aspects of Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research data management).
Student Data Management and Analysis (SDMA)
SDMA is responsible for reporting on student data, including producing the University's Hesa returns, the Norrington Table, Annual Student Statistics, Annual Programme Statistics, and reports on award outcomes. It also produces ad hoc reports on request and oversees reporting developments. SDMA manages a number of key Oracle Student System (OSS) functions, coordinates OSS bug fixes and enhancements, contributes to the development of student systems and maintains course and unit structure in OSS. The Graduate Data Manager works with GSAs and divisional officers to monitor the data quality and administration procedures across the university.
The Student Fees Team is responsible for data management and policy related to University tuition fees and liaison with the Student Loans Company. The Fees team manages the fees schedule.
University Card Office
The University Card Office issues university cards for staff and students; is the University custodian of Congregation and Faculty lists; issues Encaenia tickets; and is responsible for the University student contract including the receipt and storage of signed contracts.
