The College Hub is an informal space open to all college members and is home to the Common Room and Café. College members are able to access The Hub 24 hours a day. The café is open Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00, and Saturday to Sunday 08:00 – 16.00. Please click here for further details about The College Hub.

The Hub is a stand-alone building in the grounds of the College. At present getting to The Hub can be tricky for some people as the route involves going over some uneven ground and loose gravel. The College will be constructing a fully accessible route to The Hub in the near future.

The main entrance is via a powered door - during café opening hours the door can be opened using a push button. Outside café opening hours the door can be opening using a College access card. Please note that there is a small metal lip at the entrance to the building. The Hub is a single storey building and has level access throughout. There is plenty of space in the main common room/cafe area; all furniture is freestanding and can be moved as needed. The cafe counter has leg space underneath for wheelchair users.

There are two gender neutral fully accessible toilets.

There is a level outside eating area which can be accessed from the main common room/cafe area; the doors are not powered. There is also a small metal lip at each of the doorways. This area can also be accessed by following the building round from the main entrance.

Simply take the platform lift from the lobby area and pass through a set of doors (not powered) the main library room is located on the left hand side coming off the large stair lobby.

In the main reading room are plenty of desks and open plan work space with a choice of desk or armchairs depending on your preferences.

There are accessible computers located on the desks within the library.  The book shelves are easily accessible as they run along the walls but they are quite high so you may need to ask for assistance.

There is a (powered) height adjustable desk; this has a large monitor which people with a visual impairment may find useful.

Across the hall way is second reading room with sofas and more bookshelves, these are bit harder to access as the sofas sit in front of them, not to worry though as the librarian will be more than willing help.

The librarian can be contacted via email  samantha.truman@kellogg.ox.ac.uk

Gardens

+ more

The gardens straddle the whole site. It is essentially a series of interconnected gardens each associated with one of the former townhouses.  They are mostly laid to lawn but there are paving slabs and a terrace adjacent to the dining room.  Users will find occasional benches too.

To access the gardens directly from the main college there are doors leading off the glass foyer/lobby area in front of the dining hall and college bar- all of which are level access.

The pathways in the garden are a mix of paving slabs in the lawn, informal or lightly laid gravel. Whilst they aren’t technically accessible, if the weather is good and the wheelchair user is used to lawns and outdoors they are manageable.  Otherwise a wheelchair user should stick to the terrace and use the roads to navigate to the student housing blocks.
