**Update 16th January 2019. The lift in the library (from ground to third floor) is currently out of action.

The lift next to reception (from ground to second floor) is working.

This means that the third floor is currently inaccessible for people requiring step free access.

There are four University owned spaces:

One disabled space adjacent to alternative entrance to the Law Libaray (St Cross building)

Three additional disabled spaces shared with St Cross and Manor Road buildings

All parking in the St. Cross Building car park is for University car park permit holders only.

Please contact the St. Cross Building Porters’ Lodge on 01865 271481 in advance.

There is ramped access to the main concourse (external).

There are also 3 steps up to concourse.

The enter the buildings there are revolving doors and a separate accessible entrance along side (ring intercom if you dont have key fob access).

Once inside there is a reception desk on the left hand side (not lowered). 

There is a large staircase immediately after the reception desk that leads to all departmental and teaching spaces

The Social Science Library is directly ahead of you.

For those that require lift access, the porters will escort you in the lift to the first floor lobby area.

There are two lifts in the building; both are access controlled at ground level, and open access from the first floor upwards.

At ground floor level, you’ll find the first lift next to the reception desk. Note that this lift travels from ground floor to the second floor only.

At ground floor level the second lift is in the library. This lift travels from the ground floor to the third floor. **Update 16th January 2019. This lift is currently out of action. The Access Guide will be updated once this lift has been repaired**

Accessible toilets

There are three accessible toilets on the first and second floor of the Manor Road Building. They are located on the main corridor and in each department too. There is also shower (complete with shower seat) located in the largest of these on each floor.

On the ground floor is a toilet located in the lobby area of the library entrance- some users might find this one a bit tight and there is a large/heavy door to navigate too. 

Finally on the third floor there is one more additional accessible toilet located off the main corridor.  See floor plans for the exact locations.

There are standard toilets located next to the disabled toilets on all floors.  On the first floor, there is also a set of standard toilets next to the canteen.  There is an additional block of standard toilets next to the lift on the third floor.

The swipe doors to Politics and to Socio-Legal Studies are locked at all times, so that only an activated University card can swipe through.

Other departments are locked outside working/office hours (Monday–Friday 08:00 to 18:30).

Good news! There aren't any.

Some wheelchair users might find the toilet too small, and the library study carrels difficult to access.
