The St Cross Building houses Law and English Faculties and associated libraries. The Department of Economics and library are located in the Manor Road Building, a new building designed by Sir Norman Foster. English and Law are accessible by internal lifts. Each disabled access door has a ramp and an external telephone. A member of staff is required to open the access doors; please phone (01865) 271481. We currently have two students with mobility disabilities.

The English Library: An alternative entrance is situated to the left of the main steps. The ramp (no handrails) to this entrance is accessed via the car park on St Cross Road. There is a disabled parking space, but no signs to indicate the entrance. The doors are locked, but there is an external telephone to ring for assistance. The designated disabled toilet for the library users can be accessed only via this entrance. A toilet adapted for wheelchair users is located on the 1st floor of the graduate space, accessible by lift (staff/key operated) from inside the Law Graduate space. Its location is not signposted. The height of the toilet seat is 540mm. There are no grab-rails suitable to aid transferring. The door opens inwards. Assistance may be required to use this facility. Refurbishment of the disabled toilet is planned. The English Library is accessed via a lift which is key operated by members of staff only. There is no direct access to the Law Library and access to the Law Faculty is via a lift within the law graduate space.

The Law library: An alternative entrance is situated around the corner from the English Library, via the car park. This entrance is stepped and ramped (no handrails); assistance may be required for the ramp. These doors are kept locked, but there is a telephone to ring for assistance. There is a staff/key operated lift to the library. The common room can only be accessed via this entrance for a wheelchair user. A toilet adapted for wheelchair use is located in the Law Library. A carrel in the Law Library is adapted so that a wheelchair user can use a computer and work with a helper.

The Department of Economics and Associated Library: is located in the Manor Road Building (near St Catherine's College). The library is on the ground floor, seminar rooms on the upper floors are accessible by lift and there is a disabled toilet on each level. There are disabled parking spaces located off Manor Road.
