Parking

+ more

IT Services have one parking space outside the building which can be booked by visitors.  Please contact br-reception@it.ox.ac.uk, or arrange it through the person you are visiting.  It may also be possible to book the nearby space belonging to the Materials department, which you must have a permit to use.  In terms of non-university spaces, parking on Banbury Road is scarce, but there are Pay and Display and Blue Badge spaces nearby on Keble Road (one-way).  Please see the map below for details of city parking.

Entrances

+ more

The main entrance is not level, and is accessed via a small set of steps from Banbury Road, and these have no handrail or nosings.  The entrance door at the top of these steps is manual, with large vision panels.

Level access is available through a door to the left of the main entrance.  There is quite a steep ramp leading to the level access door, but it has a handrail on both sides.  Once you reach the door, there is an intercom on the left-hand side which you can use to contact reception.  If you are a visitor, someone from reception will come and guide you into the building.  The door is powered, and opens inwards.

Accessible toilets

+ more

There are two accessible toilets available on the ground floor.  The first is almost directly opposite the accessible entrance, and the other is by the training rooms.  To get there, come through the accessible entrance and follow the corridor around to your left.  Reception will be on your left hand side.  Go through the door marked ‘Thames Suite’ on the right hand side of the reception desk.  Go through the next set of double doors on your right, and down the ramp.  Head through one last set of double doors straight ahead of you to reach the teaching rooms, and the accessible toilet is on the right hand side.  As there are so many heavy doors on this route, I would suggest that you use the toilet by the accessible entrance unless you are in a teaching room or the registration area.

There is also a standard size cubicle with grab-rails in the Men’s and Women’s toilet near the teaching rooms.
