How to apply for University Graduate Housing

Tenants

You cannot be a current tenant in University Graduate Housing and apply to go on to the waiting list at the same time.  You can only reapply for graduate housing when you are an ex-tenant.

You cannot reapply if you have already had two years in graduate housing.

Singles

In order to apply for University Graduate Housing please check first to see if you would be eligible for this type of accommodation and then complete the application form that you can find at the bottom of this page.

Couples and Families

In order to apply for University Graduate Housing please check first to see if you would be eligible for this type of accommodation and then complete the application form.

Graduate students are eligible for University accommodation for couples or families if they are married and living with their husband/wife or have dependent children living with them or live with a partner as a couple.

If you are a graduate student and have a partner they do not have to be a student and we make no distinction between mixed and same sex couples.

If you are part of an un-married couple:

  • you have to complete an application form and also attach a letter, addressed to the Accommodation Officer, to your emailed application (see below). Your application will not be accepted unless accompanied by a letter:

    Unmarried couples or partners are able to go onto the waiting list and will be afforded the same eligibility for accommodation as married couples. However, if only one of the couple/partnership is a graduate student then a brief letter addressed to the Accommodation Officer, confirming the relationship to the applicant (student), is required. This rule applies at the time of application so if you will be getting married at a later date you still need to provide a letter.

If you are part of a married couple

Please note that single students are not permitted to live in 1, 2, or 3 bedroom flats which are for couples and family  occupancy only.

Application form

The application form should be sent by email.  You will see that as you complete sections it opens up to request more information.  When you have finished you must click on the 'Submit by Email' button at the top of the form.  If you have any problems completing the form please contact us.
