Alan Bullock Close lies just over Magdalen Bridge about half a mile east of the city centre, within easy walking distance of most of the University buildings and the main shopping area. St Clements also has numerous shops and restaurants.

The property comprises 46 flats arranged in two blocks on a landscaped site next to a tributary of the river and Angel Meadow. There are 17 studio flats with a living room (with curtained bed alcove), bathroom and kitchen. One of the studio flats, No.28 has an extra room with no window. There are also 27 two-bedroom and 2 three-bedroom flats which only cater for families with children, all with a living room, kitchen and bathroom.

Bicycles

There are bicycle stands and a large lockable bicycle shed.

Car Parking

There is an open hard standing car park with parking bays. A few garages are on site for which a charge is made. A waiting list for the garages is held at the Graduate Housing Office.

Cleaning

Tenants are expected to keep their flats clean and to provide their own cleaning materials. A vacuum cleaner for use by all tenants is available to borrow from the common room.

Computer Connection

All the flats have a computer connection to the University Network. Please note connection must be by CABLE only - WIFI is not permitted.

Electricity

Tenants pay for the electricity used by quarterly account.

Furnishing/equipment

The flats are equipped with the basic furniture required, including an electric cooker with four rings, grill and oven and a fridge with a freezer compartment. Tenants must provide their own bed linen (including pillows), crockery, cutlery, cooking and household items. There is a Newcomers' Club which helps newly-arrived wives, husbands and partners of members of the University.

Heating

The flats have gas central heating and hot water provided by a combination boiler controlled by the tenant.

Laundry

There is a token operated laundry on site. It has two washing machines and two dryers. Tokens can be obtained from the Post Office in St Clements. There is also an ironing board available.

Telephone

The houses have a BT telephone line. New tenants should contact BT to have the line reconnected and BT may charge for this.
