Dartington House

Dartington House is in the centre of Oxford on Little Clarendon Street. The flats here were previously for staff but have now been made available to graduate students. They are ideally located within walking distance of the centre of Oxford and many departments and colleges. Please note these flats are on the top (3rd) floor.  There is a lift in the building but as it only goes as far as the 2nd floor tenants have to use the stairs to get to the top.

Access

Tenants need to use their University Card to gain access to this building.

Car parking

There is no parking.

Cleaning

Tenants are responsible for their own cleaning.

Computer Connection

All the flats have a computer connection to the University network.  Please note connection must be by CABLE only - WIFI is not permitted.

Utilities

Tenants pay for the electricity used by quarterly account.

Furnishing/Equipment

Flats are equipped with the basic furniture required, including an electric cooker with four rings, grill and oven and a fridge with freezer compartment. Tenants must provide their own bed linen (including pillows), crockery, cutlery, cooking and household items. Tenants can obtain their own washing machine as plumbing is already installed. There is a Newcomers Club which helps newly-arrived wives, husbands and partners of members of the University.

Heating

In Dartington House the heating is provided by electric storage heaters.  Electric is charged quarterly.

Laundry

Each flat has its own washing machine.

Council Tax

Tenants do not have to pay Council Tax.
