25 Wellington Square
The graduate accommodation for couples at 25 Wellington Square comprises of 4 one-bedroom flats which face onto Little Clarendon Street. These flats are on the top floor (third) of the building and can only be reached by a staircase (no lift is available) so will not be so convenient for anyone with a small child. The rest of the building houses 90 single students. All the facilities of central Oxford are within a few minutes walk.
Bicycles
There are two lock-up cycle cages.
Car parking
No car parking is available, but up to twelve permits for street parking in Wellington Square can be obtained from Oxford City Council (Parking and Payments Office, 140 High Street).
Cleaning
Tenants are expected to keep their flats clean and to provide their own cleaning materials.
Computer connection
The flats have a computer connection to the University Network. Please note connection must be by CABLE only - WIFI is not permitted.
Electricity
Tenants pay for the electricity used by annual account.
Furnishing/Equipment
The flats are equipped with the basic furniture required, including an electric cooker, grill and oven and a fridge with a freezer compartment. Tenants must provide their own bed linen (including pillows), crockery, cutlery, cooking and household items. There is a Newcomers' Club which helps newly-arrived wives, husbands and partners of members of the University.
Heating
The flats have gas central heating and hot water provided by a communal boiler.
Laundry
There is a coin-operated laundry on the ground floor. It has two washing machines and one dryer.
Telephone
The flats have a telephone connection via the University Network which gives free calls to other University extensions. The cost of the telephone line rental and all calls outside the University network (plus VAT) will be charged quarterly.
