Business Services and Projects
Business Services and Projects (BSP) is part of University Administration and Services (UAS). We partner with the departments of UAS, and through them, with the rest of the collegiate University, to deliver key information services for staff and students.
BSP’s mission is to develop and support business systems which underpin the effective operation of the UAS departments and the wider University so that these departments match the University’s world-class standing.
Our main work is in planning, managing, developing, implementing and supporting core business systems - including Oracle Financials, Oracle Student Systems (OSS), HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Development & Alumni Relations System (DARS) – along with numerous bespoke applications.
We rely on, and work closely with, the other central IT providers, such as the ICT Support Team (ICTST) and Oxford University Computing Services (OUCS).
BSP’s professional services include:
- Customer Services: offering first- and second-line support (Helpdesks) on many commonly-used systems e.g. Oracle Financials, and applications e.g. Office 2007.
- Technical Services: providing maintenance of servers, data storage, networks, back-up tape libraries and data centres.
- Business Systems Development : replacing, enhancing or upgrading ICT systems and applications, using a proven methodology. This includes business and process analysis, project management, system development, testing and training.
