About CMS and Site Manager
A Web Content Management System (CMS) is a software system used to manage and publish content on a website. Users access the CMS via a web browser and add their content using pre-defined templates.
No technical understanding of the web is required, the system is designed to allow users with little knowledge of web programming languages to create and manage content. This means more people can become involved in the process, allowing people to author pages about their specialist subject. It also means that updating and creating web pages is quicker and easier.
The system chosen at UAS is Site Manager by TERMINALFOUR. They have many other clients in the UK Higher Education sector, including the universities of York, Manchester and St. Andrews.
