Anti-Bribery & Corruption Programme
Anti-Bribery & Corruption Programme
The University has developed specific materials aimed at providing further guidance and training about countering bribery in a university context. The first of these is the Anti-Bribery & Corruption Programme As Easy as ABC. This is a series of interactive modules that include both explanatory material and tests of knowledge for users. These may be used as an introduction to the subject, as well as a refresher course, and may be downloaded and run by users on their computers at their convenience.
At present the programme comprises:
Module 1: Bribery and the Damage Caused
(1,129kb) – a definition of bribery, examples of how it can occur, and reasons why it should be prevented.
Module 2: Anti-Bribery Measures
(847kb) - bribery risk within the University and the rules that apply.
Module 3: Responding to Bribery Risk
(1,338kb) - guidance and suggestions on how to deal with particular bribery-related scenarios should they occur within the University.
NB - The downloads are provided as interactive PDF files so that they may be viewed on as wide a range of devices as possible. You can read through them one page at a time, but to get the best out of them you should navigate using the buttons provided within each module.
Training Courses
It is planned to introduce a regular introductory training programme in the future in conjunction with the Oxford Learning Institute. This will be available to all staff and feature as part of the training available at induction.
In the interim, the online Anti-Bribery & Corruption Programme set out above is offered and departments with particular concerns can request one-off classroom type courses to be provided. Enquiries about these courses should be directed in the first instance to the Council Secretariat Compliance Team.
