Vacancies for volunteer external members of committees
Please follow the links below for information on opportunities for members of the public to serve on University committees.
University research ethics committees
Eight volunteer lay members serve on Oxford University's Research Ethics Committees; they are either members of committees that review the ethics of proposals for research involving human participants or personal data, or they serve on the central committee with responsibility for policy relating to that review. Each committee meets at least three times a year in Oxford (reasonable travel expenses are refundable), and reviews matters by correspondence between meetings. If you are interested in receiving information about future vacancies, please contact the Secretary of the Central University Research Ethics Committee by email: curec@admin.ox.ac.uk. Please note that there is only a modest budget for the expenses of lay members attending meetings and therefore we are unable to cover the cost of travel from overseas.
