Education Policy Support

Education Policy Support is based at University Offices, Wellington Square and is part of University Administration and Services (UAS).

Education Policy Support (EPS) is responsible for coordinating institutional arrangements for developing and monitoring academic quality and standards across the collegiate University. The section offers advice and guidance to departments, faculties and colleges within Oxford on a wide range of issues including development and review of programmes, education policy, examinations and assessment, external examiners, and formulation of examination regulations, in addition to student dispensations, and appeals.

The EPS team comprises the Education Committee secretariat, supporting the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and the associated panels and subcommittees of Education Committee. The Committee is one of the five main committees of Council and has overall responsibility for the definition and review of the educational philosophy, policy and standards of the collegiate University in respect of teaching, learning and assessment, and deals with individual applications for dispensation from the University’s Examination Regulations. The section works closely with the Divisions, college bodies and other sections of UAS.
