Information for external examiners
The Education Policy Support section deals with reports to the Vice-Chancellor and their distribution to colleagues in divisions and departments. It also deals with general queries and advice concerning external examining and quality assurance, and the authorisation of fees for external examiners. Guidelines for external examiners, along with a copy of the letter of invitation to report from the Vice-Chancellor are available to download from the Useful documents section on the right, along with the schedule of fees and expenses claims forms.
The section liaises closely with the Examination Schools who deal with the appointment of examiners and fee administration. Once your appointment as an External Examiner is confirmed by the University, the Examiner Appointments Team will email you a username and password to allow you access to the restricted Examiner Appointments WebLearn site, from which you can view the list of examinations you will be examining.
