Quality Assurance Questionnaire

The Quality assurance questionnaire is administered on a rotating three yearly cycle, each year focusing on quality assurance procedures relating to either undergraduate courses, postgraduate taught courses or postgraduate research programmes. The questions are based upon various University policies and guidance relating to educational provision which reflect the requirements of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education.

The Quality assurance questionnaire exercise enables faculties and departments, divisions and the University to reflect on the operation of quality assurance procedures and the implementation of policy and guidance. Through this process, we can:

  • confirm that the key elements of quality assurance are in place and functioning effectively

  • identify where action might be required to maintain or improve policy or procedures

  • facilitate quality enhancement through the identification of good practice which can then be disseminated across the University

Every department which offers courses at the relevant level is asked to complete the questionnaire in Michaelmas term. The results are analysed by the divisions and then reported to the Quality Assurance Subcommittee of Education Committee.

The questionnaire is refined each year to reflect changes in policy and guidance and key quality assurance themes. A copy of the latest questionnaire is provided below:
