Note: Under Council Regulations 17 of 2002, paragraph 12(8) - (11), this vacancy represents one of "four persons from among the members of the Faculty of Biochemistry, the Faculty of Physiological Sciences and the Faculty of Psychological Studies, of whom there shall be no more than one from each of the Department of Biochemistry, the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, the Department of Pharmacology, and the Department of Experimental Psychology, elected jointly by the members of the Faculty of Biochemistry, the Faculty of Clinical Medicine, the Faculty of Physiological Sciences and the Faculty of Psychological Studies". Board members currently representing the Departments of Biochemistry [K.A. Nasmith], Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics [K.E. Davies], and Pharmacology [A.G. Galione] were elected as of 2 November 2006 [MT 2006], to hold office until MT 2010; therefore, members of these three departments are currently ineligible for nomination to this vacancy. General Notes:Where it is specified in the above list that the nominee must be from among certain persons 'working in' a Department or other institution, both the nominee and the nominators must be persons so working at the time of the election. Nominations in writing for the election on 27 November, by four members of Congregation other than the candidate, will be received by the Elections Office, at the University Offices, Wellington Square, up to 4 p.m. on Thursday 30 October 2008. Nominations should show for each signatory the name and college or department in block capitals: any names which are not so shown may not be published. At least one nomination in respect of each candidate must be made on an official nomination form. Copies of the form are obtainable from the Elections Office, e-mail: elections.office@admin.ox.ac.uk, or from the Elections Office website: http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/elections/oxonly/forms/index.shtml In the event of a contested election, a brief biographical note on each candidate will be available on-line http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/elections/ and published in the Gazette dated 6 November 2008. Ballot papers will be sent out to members of Congregation as soon as possible after the closing date for nominations. Completed ballot papers must be received by the Elections Office not later than 4 p.m. on 27 November 2008.
