Current Elections: Trinity Term 2008Of the 95 vacancies advertised for election on 5 June 2008, 14 were contested, 75 were uncontested, and six have lapsed. Details of appointments to lapsed vacancies were published in the 25 September issue of the Gazette. The results of the contested elections are now available: Council The following elections were uncontested and the persons nominated deemed elected as of 5 May 2008: Council The following vacancies have lapsed: Social Sciences Divisional Board: Two members to hold office until MT 2010: One person elected by and from the academic members of the Department of Economics; One person elected by and from the academic members of the Oxford University Centre for the Environment Board of the Faculty of Classics: One person elected by and from among the members of the Sub-faculty of Classical Languages and Literature to hold office until MT 2009 Board of the Faculty of English Language and Literature: One ordinary member elected by and from all members of the faculty exclusive of the persons qualified to be Official Members as per Regulation 19.7 to hold office until MT 2010 Board of the Faculty of Theology: Two official members elected by all members of the faculty and from the persons qualified to be Official Members as per Regulation 19.7 to hold office until MT 2010 Note: No nominations having been received for the above six vacancies, the Vice-Chancellor and Proctors jointly shall have power to nominate a candidate for each vacancy remaining to be filled, and such candidates shall then be declared to be duly elected (as per Council Regulation 17.25 of 2002 and Council Regulations 19.34 of 2002).
