Current Elections: Trinity Term 2009Of the 85 vacancies advertised for election on 11 June 2009, eight were contested; 68 were uncontested; and nine lapsed. Details of appointments to lapsed vacancies will be published in due course. The results of the contested elections are now available: Council (MPLS & Med Sci) The following elections were uncontested and the persons nominated deemed elected as of 14 May 2009: Council (non-divisional) Benefices Delegacy Humanities Board Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board Board of the Faculty of Classics Board of the Faculty of English Language and Literature Board of the Faculty of History Board of the Faculty of Law Board of the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics Board of the Faculty of Music Board of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Board of the Faculty of Philosophy Board of the Faculty of Theology The following vacancies have lapsed: Continuing Education Board One member of the Department for Continuing Education elected by and from among the members of the department, as per Council Regulation 15.3.37.(15)-(17) to hold office until MT 2012 Committee for the Ruskin School of Fine Art One person holding teaching posts in the Ruskin School, who shall be elected by all those holding such posts except the Ruskin Master of Drawing under arrangements as per Council Regulations 19 of 2002, regulations 28-35, as per Council Regulation 2.9.1.(3)-(6) to hold office until MT 2012 Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board One person elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Computer Science, as per Council Regulation 17.10.(20) to hold office until MT 2013 One person elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Earth Sciences, as per Council Regulation 17.10.(21) to hold office until MT 2013 One person elected by and from among the members of the Faculty of Engineering Science, as per Council Regulation 17.10.(14-15) to hold office until MT 2013 Board of the Faculty of English Language and Literature One official member elected by all members of the faculty and from the persons qualified to be Official Members as per Regulation 19.7, as per Council Regulation 19.9.(1) to hold office until MT 2011 Board of the Faculty of Law Two official members elected by all members of the faculty and from the persons qualified to be Official Members as per Regulation 19.7, as per Council Regulation 19.9.(1) to hold office until MT 2011 One ordinary member elected by and from all members of the faculty exclusive of the persons qualified to be Official Members as per Regulation 19.7, as per Council Regulation 19.9.(2) to hold office until MT 2011 For further information about the committee or body concerned, please contact the individual Secretary, as listed in the University Calendar, 2008-09. No nominations having been received for the above nine lapsed vacancies, the Vice-Chancellor and Proctors jointly shall have power to nominate a candidate for each vacancy remaining to be filled, and such candidates shall then be declared to be duly elected (as per Council Regulation 17.25 of 2002 and Council Regulations 19.34 of 2002).
