The nomination period for these elections closed at 4 p.m. on Thursday 19 May. All valid nominations received have now been published on-line and in the 26 May issue of the Gazette. Of the 86 vacancies advertised for election on 16 June 2011, five will be contested, 77 were uncontested, and four lapsed.

The following elections will be contested:

Council (MPLS and Medical Sciences)

Socially Responsible Investment Review Committee (Humanities and Social Sciences)

Curators of the University Libraries (2 vacancies)

Curators of the University Parks

All members of Congregation are entitled to vote in these elections. Ballot papers will be sent out by Tuesday 31 May. Completed ballot papers must be received by the Elections Office not later than 4 p.m. on 16 June.

The following four vacancies have lapsed:

Socially Responsible Investment Review Committee (1 vacancy representing MPLS and Medical Sciences)

Humanities Divisional Board (1 vacancy representing Linguistics)

Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board (1 vacancy representing Chemistry)

Board of the Faculty of Theology (1 vacancy for an official member of the faculty)

In the TT 2011 elections by Congregation, a vacancy on the Humanities Divisional Board was advertised to elect a representative from among the members of the Faculty of Classics vice Professor R.R.R. Smith, Lincoln. This was incorrect. The incumbent member, Professor Smith, was elected in TT 2009 to hold office until the start of MT 2013. The on-line version of the notice of vacancies on the Elections Office website has now been amended to remove the error. 23/09/11
