Election Dates and Schedules
Election Dates
All elections by Congregation take place in Week Seven and Week Eight of term. This, because the University legislation (i.e. the Statutes and Regulations) requires that (1) elections be held in full term, and (2) there be at least 49 days notice between the publication of the vacancy in the Gazette and the election date itself.
By custom, elections are always held on a Thursday and, to avoid duplication of effort and costs, the main election date is Thursday of Week Seven.
