The University’s Equality Policy provides the context for all our work on race equality and ensures that no member of the University will be treated less favourably on the grounds of race.
Work on Race Equality is overseen by the Advisory Group on Race, Religion and Belief (RRBAG). The Group, which is chaired by Dr Samina Khan, Deputy Director of Undergraduate Admissions, meets regularly during term time, to advise the EDU and the Equality and Diversity Panel on a programme of work on race equality.
The University is one of 30 institutions to participate in the trial of the national Race Equality Charter Mark in Higher Education which aims to improve the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students within higher education. The University will make an application to the Charter in April 2015, which will include a three year action plan for race equality work at Oxford. Work on the Charter is overseen by the Equality and Diversity Panel and RRBAG.
