The University impacts on local biodiversity through its local operations, land utilisation and landscaping, as well as through what it consumes and procures.

A Biodiversity Strategy is in development and will encompass best practice in grounds maintenance, maximisation of available space for wildlife in urban environments, connectivity across urban Oxford (for example via green corridors) and design approaches for new build developments. The strategy focuses on creating habitats that are bigger, better and joined.
