Asset and Space Management

The University’s estate in and around the City Centre comprises the land and buildings that primarily support its teaching and research objectives.  It includes the functional estate – the laboratory and teaching facilities, offices, museums and libraries that are used for teaching, research and administration, housing for graduate students and staff, University Parks and Wytham WoodsIt is also responsible for commercial, agricultural and residential land holdings and property assets at various locations including Wytham and Marston estates, Begbroke and Tubney.

The University’s portfolio of peer investment property and the estates of the independent Colleges and Halls that make up the University are managed separately.  Each College usually manages its own property.  The University’s investment estate outside Oxford (and that of some of the Colleges) is managed by Oxford University Endowment Management Ltd.

The University’s functional and commercial estate is managed through Estates Services’ Asset and Space Management team.
