Building Information

The University's functional estate is divided into notional areas, or sites, for data recording purposes. These sites are further divided into subsites which include buildings, parks, sports facilities and other functional and managerial units. Individual buildings are related to sites and subsites.

The Information Management Team (IMT) allocates and maintains the records of each building and its unique number, used within Estates Services and across other University departments, and the authorised names of buildings. We keep the addresses of the properties including postcode information. We also provide the unique University space references.

The IMT records and maintains property data for each building.

The IMT also maintains a library of drawings, manuals, photographs of individual buildings and other information. Most of this is only available as hard copy information, but we are starting to make the data available electronically.
