Eco Reps
Eco Reps are staff members in the University who choose to volunteer to promote environmental good practice within their department, from energy saving to switching to recycled paper. As of 2009, there are 65 Eco Reps.
Staff can decide what they want to do and how much time they spend on Eco Rep activity. The Sustainability Team can provide guidance if needed. In December an Eco Rep Lunch is held so that everyone can come together to celebrate success, and discuss how to make improvements the following year.
What are the benefits of being an Eco Rep?
- Receive a copy of Eco Finance each month
- Direct access to the Environmental Sustainability Team
- Opportunity to win prizes for individuals and departments
- Free in-house training on environmental best practice
Eco Rep prizes include train tickets, bus and coach passes, bicycles, cycle equipment, free cycle training sessions, eco-friendly stationery, eco-hampers, lunches at the University Club, theatre tickets, lighting control systems, water saving systems, free invitations to exhibitions and cinema viewings.
Most importantly, you get a chance to voice your opinion, express your environmental interests, exchange ideas with other Eco Rep members, and influence the University's environmental impact.
