New glass dryers save energy in labs

As part of the University of Oxford’s drive to reduce carbon emissions, the Environmental Sustainability team within Estates Services have funded the replacement of all old inefficient glass dryers around the University's functional estate. These old units consume a great deal of energy - each uses even more electricity than an ultra-low temperature freezer, itself a large and notably power-hungry piece of scientific equipment.

Blue plaque unveiled at Wytham Woods

It has been 75 years since the Wytham Woods passed into the University of Oxford’s possession, and on Saturday 7 October the anniversary was marked by the unveiling of a blue plaque commemorating the bequest of the land by the ffennell family.
