The Sheldonian Theatre has been awarded a score of 84% by Visit England – only 5% of venues score this highly on their first assessment visit.

Visit England’s accreditation and assessment schemes help tourism businesses improve and promote their quality, accessibility and sustainability achievements. The Sheldonian Theatre staff, part of Estates Services’ Facilities Management team, have worked hard to improve customer service standards and enhance the visitor experience. This has included undergoing staff training, launching guided tours, improving signage and literature and revamping their website.

The Theatre will now undergo an annual assessment and next year staff will use this first score as a benchmark from which to further improve their service provision.
