Blavatnik scoops two more awards

Judges at both the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) and the Concrete Society voted the Blavatnik School of Government winner in its category.

The IStructE’s awards recognise the world’s most talented structural designers and showcase industry-leading projects and a Structural Award is an internationally recognised symbol of excellence. The School won in the education and healthcare category.

Judges were impressed with the concept and realisation of the “outstanding” building, saying: “The building’s form overlaying off-set rectangular and circular floor plates required some imaginative structural engineering. The execution makes it look effortless and the quality of finishes achieved are superb.”

The Concrete Society is now in its 48th year of celebrating excellence in concrete and the School was presented with its award at ceremony hosted by the journalist, Kate Silverton.
