Spirit of Christmas

The Sheldonian Theatre played host to the annual Spirit of Christmas concert on Wednesday 3 December.

Hundreds flocked to the the annual event which is held to support the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign (MDC), these included Harry Enfield, Dominic West and Adrian Scarborough. They were joined by actors Tobias Menzies, Jan Harvey, Oliver Milburn, Newsnight correspondent Katie Razzall, Karen Lewis-Attenborough and London Voice Soloist Elizabeth Draury.

Over the course of the evening short readings were performed by a number of celebrities, the local based Dragon School Choir sang carols and Elizabeth Drury, the London Soloist, sang Walking in the Air, The Road to Bethlehem and O Holy Night.

The evening was partly dedicated to the MDC’s late president, Lord Richard Attenborough, who died in August aged 90. The event successfully raised £16,000 beating last year’s total of £15,000.
