Liz and her team provide professional facilities management help, advice and support to the University. Liz reports to the Director of Estates and is responsible for the delivery of Facilities Management across the University, recommending value for money services that work well and match department requirements. Liz provides support and advice on Capital Projects regarding facilities management issues. Projects range from developing a full Facilities Management strategy to advice on ‘soft’ finishes. Recent work has included the development, agreement and implementation of a Facilities Management strategy for the ROQ site.  Liz is a member of The British Institute of Facilities Management.

Lisa Hofen

Lisa is Deputy Head of Strategic Facilities Management. She supports the Head of Strategic Facilities Management in the delivery of Facilities Management (FM) services across the University. She is a qualified facilities management professional who is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and Certified Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (CBIFM). Most recently she has been an ‘ask the expert’ panel member at a BIFM event to promote the Attraction, Retention and Advancement of Women in FM.

Lisa has over 15 years of facilities management experience, and has worked for the University for 11 years in a variety of FM roles.

Her particular areas of expertise include: strategic facilities management planning; leadership; facilities and operations; health and safety; facilities management; contracts and supplier management; listed buildings; space planning/design and change management.

John has worked for the University for a number of years and has recently been appointed to a newly created role of Head of Facilities Management Operations. His role involves ensuring that all FM managed buildings are delivering the service levels agreed with customers and departments, as well as line managing the Senior Facilities Managers.  He works closely with Liz Kitchener, Head of Strategic FM, and Lisa Hofen, Deputy Head of Strategic FM, to maintain high levels of compliance across FM managed sites.

Aileen joined the team in August 2015. She brings a wealth of experience with her having worked as Head of FM Operations at Oxfam for over sixteen years. She is responsible for the provision of a successful Facilities Management Service on the ROQ site ensuring a customer service focussed culture and services that deliver value for money. She deals with all aspects of the opening of new buildings on the Radcliffe Observatory Site (ROQ) ensuring a smooth transition for customers into their new buildings. Aileen has significant expertise in Leadership, Change Management, Relocations and office moves as well as Health and Safety.

George is an experienced Facilities Manager, having managed University sites for 17 years.  During this time he has looked after a variety of new and Grade II listed buildings including libraries, teaching spaces, laboratories and commercial tenants. George is a University trainer in the use of local emergency evacuation equipment, and a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and the International Institute of Risk Management.

Toby is the Senior Facilities Manager for the Old Road Campus (ORC). Toby has a new and exciting role, to develop and implement an approved FM strategy for the new buildings identified on the site masterplan,  ensuring service efficiencies and value for money are maximised, in consultation with our customers and stakeholders. He joined the University in 2007 and has worked in a number of different divisions and departments. His previous responsibilities have included working on major new building projects, liaising with customers and Estates services to ensure a smooth transition for customers into their new buildings.

Kishore is the General Manager of the University Club and has over 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry. In 2014 the Club became an FM managed building. Located on Mansfield Road, the Club provides a social and recreational facility for University staff, graduate students, academic visitors, retired staff and other associate members. Members are able to use a range of facilities including the café, bar, sports facilities and gym. Function rooms are available for parties, weddings and other events. The Club has 14 bedrooms conveniently located in the city centre at affordable rates. More information about becoming a member of the Club can be found here.

As Senior Facilities Manager at the Examination Schools and the Sheldonian Theatre. His role involves the management of the day-to-day operation in both of these prestigious buildings. The Examination School is primarily used for examinations, lectures, University and commercial events. The Sheldonian Theatre, the University’s ceremonial hall, provides event management facilities to the University and is also hired out for commercial purposes.

Sally reports to Liz Kitchener and is responsible for supporting university-wide, and significant FM-related contracts for the University. She has around 20 years’ experience working in FM and the hospitality and catering industry.  Sally works closely with central purchasing to develop robust criteria for preferred suppliers, developing strategies to achieve better value and improve contractual performance.  In addition Sally is developing an audit and review process to ensure continuous assessment of University preferred suppliers,

As Senior Event Marketing Manager for the Examination Schools and the Sheldonian Theatre, Kay is responsible for securing and facilitating external events which take place outside of the times the buildings are used for academic purposes. Kay also manages a significant number of University events that take place across both sites, the largest being Freshers’ Fair at the start of each new academic year.

Sarah is responsible for the Central Services within FM - the Central Services include the Facilities Management Helpdesk, Mail Services Team (including the University Messengers), Reprographics and Central Records. Sarah has ten years’ Facilities Management experience and five years’ experience working on specialist FM Helpdesk projects in the higher education and charity sectors. Sarah is a Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management and the Chartered Management Institute, she is also a practitioner in IOSH (health & safety) and PRINCE2 (project management).

Greg is the Senior Facilities Manager for Wellington Square and a number of other UAS buildings. His role involves the provision of facilities services across a large portfolio of buildings ensuring services meet customer expectations and deliver value for money.

Greg has worked in facilities, construction and project management for over 17 years. He brings a wealth of expertise having worked in and advised a range of industry sectors. These have included the prison service, Ministry of Defence, housing associations, private consultancy and higher education.

Greg has a BSC (Hons) in Construction Management. He is an incorporated member of the Chartered Institute of Building (ICIOB) and  a certified member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (CBIFM).

Stephanie joined the University in September 2015 as the Facilities and Service Manager for the Blavatnik School of Government. The new Blavatnik building is a world-class educational facility which has been designed to promote open discussion, interaction and collaboration. The entire construction of the building has been designed to meet the highest standards of environmental sustainability. Stephanie is responsible for providing FM services for this new building. Before joining the University she was responsible for property and facilities management for commercial business parks in the South East region for ten years.

David has worked for the University for over 22 years and manages the Facilities Helpdesk. In addition he manages Central Records and the Card office. Both these departments provide front line support to University Administration and Services staff and other Facilities Management buildings.
