Repair of Building Fabric
The Conservation and Buildings Section is responsible for the repair and maintenance of building fabric such as roofs, walls and windows.
Work is organised as planned, routine, and reactive maintenance programmes.
- Planned work encompasses larger scale replacement work such as roof replacement or external window redecorations. This programme is informed by the conditions survey.
- Routine work is organised by the Building Inspectors team. This includes work such as annual gutter clearance and test and inspection of roof access systems.
- Reactive work can be notified to the Helpdesk by department nominated authorised requesters, usually through Planon FacilityNet or in the case of an emergency by telephoning (2) 70877. Reactive work is also identified by the Building Inspectors team who carry out regular inspections of buildings.
Emergency repairs and much of the routine and reactive work is undertaken by the Direct Labour Organisation.
All work programmes and work requests are logged onto Planon and can be viewed by authorised requesters on Planon FacilityNet.
