Security is an important aspect of University life. Oxford University Security Services (OUSS) provide a wide range of services aimed at maintaining a safe and secure physical environment for the University community. The Security Services teams operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and are always available to provide support and assistance to staff, students and visitors.OUSS services include:
- Uniformed patrolling of the public areas owned by the University to reduce crime and the fear of crime
- CCTV surveillance
- Advising on crime prevention and personal safety
- Monitoring and responding to alarms
- Key holding
- Lone worker monitoring
- Undertaking security surveys and advising on crime-reduction measures for University property
- Providing security assistance for VIP visits
