Space and Building Information
The University of Oxford has two separately identified and managed estates.
- Functional Estate:
The land and buildings used for the day to day teaching and research objectives of the University.
- Investment Estate:
Commercial and residential accommodation let by the University and managed through the Land Agent's Office.
College estates are managed separately by each college.
The Estates Directorate manages the University's functional estate of over 240 properties, comprising in excess of 25,000 individual spaces. These include buildings of national and historic significance and range from high-tech laboratories, lecture theatres, museums and libraries to offices and store rooms.
The Information Management Team (IMT) is responsible for maintaining space and building information on the University's functional estate.
