Planning Applications
All planning applications to be submitted by the University in respect of the functional estate, or within Oxford, must be approved by BESC. This is to ensure there is opportunity to discuss any concerns or issues with the applications proposed. Where University staff or departments have concerns over a possible application, these comments should be addressed to BESC prior to submission, rather than being made directly to the Local Authority after an application has been lodged.
Making a planning application
All planning applications for the functional estate are made by OUED. If a department wishes to make an application, or is concerned that proposed works may need an application, they should contact the Information Management Team (IMT) in the first instance.
OUED Staff should refer to the guidance notes for further information on completing planning applications.
Consultation Notices
The Estates Directorate also coordinates comments on applications submitted by third parties that might affect University properties. Departments often receive such Consultation Notices directly from the Local Authority as these are usually addressed to the occupier of the property rather than sent to the University centrally. Such notices should be sent to the Information Management Team (IMT).
Planning Records
OUED keeps a copy of all building regulations submissions and planning applications submitted by the University. For information on historic planning records contact the OUED Records Clerk.
