Planning Context
The University of Oxford's buildings are principally located within the boundaries of the City of Oxford. The planning authority for the area is Oxford City Council. 
A small amount of property is located outside of the City boundaries at Begbroke (Cherwell District Council), Wytham (Vale of White Horse District Council) and Nuneham Courtenay (South Oxfordshire District Council). The University now also has a functional site in Swindon (Swindon Borough Council).
Estates Services works closely with these local authorities and national and local preservation groups (e.g. English Heritage, the Oxford Preservation Trust, Oxford Civic Society) in the development and conservation of the University's functional estate.
