Season Ticket Loan Scheme
Information for Departmental Administrators
The University is now offering staff interest-free loans for the purchase of bus or train season tickets.
- The amount of the loan should be less than the employee's monthly net pay
- The loan is repayable through the main payroll
- Loan cheques can be made either to the employee to reimburse them for a ticket they have already purchased (administrators must see proof of purchase) or to the bus/train company.
- Under no circumstances can the loan exceed £5000.00.
- The procedure is as follows (please see the form appended).
Note: Discounted season tickets are only available through the University Bus Pass Scheme and Train Pass Scheme.
How to apply for a Season Ticket Loan
- The employee fills in and signs the top section of the form.
- The Departmental Administrator authorises the payment. Reimbursement to the employee can only be made if you have seen proof of purchase of a season ticket.
- The completed form is sent to the Salaries Department who will draw the cheque and arrange repayment by monthly deductions over the period of the season ticket.
It should be made clear to staff that the responsibility for lost tickets, ticket cancellations etc. is entirely their own.
