Special Regulations for the Preliminary Examination in Mathematics and Computer Science

A

  1. 1. The subjects of the examination shall be Mathematics and Computer Science. The syllabus and the number of papers shall be as prescribed by regulation from time to time by the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Board.
  2. 2. The Chairmen of the Moderators for the Preliminary Examination in Mathematics and for the Preliminary Examination in Computer Science shall respectively designate such of their number as may be required for Mathematics and for Computer Science in this examination.

B

  1. 1. Two papers shall be set in the examination.
  2. 2. Paper 1 shall be on the topics prescribed for papers CS1 and CS2 of the regulations for Honour Moderations in Mathematics and Computer Science.
  3. 3. Paper 2 shall be on the topics prescribed for papers M1, M2 and M3 of the regulations for Honour Moderations in Mathematics and Computer Science.
  4. 4. Each paper will be of three hours' duration.
  5. 5. All questions set shall be of a straightforward nature.
