  1. [1] 1. The Continuing Education Board shall have power to grant Foundation Certificates to candidates who have satisfied the conditions prescribed in this section and any further conditions which the Committee may prescribe by regulation.
  2. [2] 2. The examination for each certificate shall be under the supervision of the Continuing Education Board which shall have the power subject to the approval of the Education Committee, to make regulations governing the examination.
  3. [3] 3. The Director of the Department for Continuing Education shall keep a register of attendance of students for the Certificate. No student shall be granted leave to take the examination unless the register shows satisfactory attendance by him or her.
  4. [4] 4. Candidates, whether members of the University or not, may be admitted as students for the Certificate under such conditions as the Continuing Education Board shall prescribe provided that, before admission to the course, candidates have satisfied the Committee that they are well qualified to enter the proposed course of study.
  5. [5] 5. Examination for the certificate shall be by written examination, by coursework essays, and (if the examiners think fit) by oral examination, under such conditions as the Continuing Education Board may by regulation prescribe.
