REGULATIONS FOR CANDIDATES SUPPLICATING FOR DEGREES

[1] DEGREE DAYS 2012-14

[2] A new system for degree ceremonies is being introduced from July 2013. Please consult the University website (http://www.ox.ac.uk/students/graduation/ceremonies/dates/) for further information.

[3] Ceremonies will normally be held in the Sheldonian Theatre for the purpose of granting graces and conferring degrees on the days shown below.

  1. [4] If you are unable to graduate on a Saturday or Friday afternoon for reasons of religion or belief, please contact your college office to discuss the possibility of graduating on a Friday morning.
  2. [5] Names of candidates must be entered, through the authorities of a college or hall, with Degree Conferrals, Examination Schools, High Street, Oxford OX1 4BG, not later than 12 noon on the Friday, fifteen days before the ceremony. The doors of the Sheldonian Theatre will normally open to visitors half an hour before the commencement of the ceremony. Tickets will be required by visitors.
  3. [6] Candidates are presented for degrees by the appropriate officers. Where presentation is by a professor, the professor should be notified in advance through the candidate's society.
