Examination Regulations 2012-2013
[1] Occasionally, new programmes will not appear in this listing but will nonetheless be found in their alphabetical place in the relevant programme grouping. It may help your search to know that the constituent files of the Examination Regulations online (as displayed in the 'contents' listing) are in the same order as they appear in the print version. If you experience any difficulty in finding the entry you require, please consult Education Policy Support.
[2] The functionality of the online Examination Regulations, particularly the search and printing facilities, is expected to be considerably improved during the course of 2012. Both the online and print versions are maintained by Education Policy Support.
[3]The print version of the Examination Regulations, commonly referred to as 'the Grey Book', is currently published annually at the beginning of Michaelmas Term. Print copies are provided to students and members of the collegiate University, however steps are being taken to substantially reduce the print run with a view to making the online version the principal source of information. If you no longer wish to receive your copy of the 'Grey Book', or require your details to be added to the distribution list (with appropriate authorisation) to receive one, please contact Education Policy Support.
[4]Approved changes and additions to the Examination Regulations are published from time to time in the University Gazette. Such changes are valid (if no objection is made to them) within fifteen days of their publication. The online version will aim to incorporate valid changes/additions as soon as possible so that it is up-to-date - such changes are made to the online version throughout the academic year. Where a large volume of changes are published in the Gazette, there may be a short delay in their appearance online. A new procedure for notifying amendments to Examination Regulations for publication in the University Gazette was introduced at the end of 2010.
[5]At present, the authoritative version of the Examination Regulations remains the most recent printed edition (as published in October of each year) plus the further changes published in the University Gazette. This version therefore takes precedence over Examination Regulations reproduced elsewhere e.g. in programme handbooks. Please contact Education Policy Support if you have any queries regarding this point.
