Insurance
The Insurance Team arranges cover for the University's property, travel, motor vehicles and legal liabilities such as employers' liability and professional indemnity. Certain specific 'ad-hoc' covers are also arranged.
Much of the University's insurance cover is arranged through Oxford Mutual Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the University.
Insurance matters connected with the University's research portfolio, including clinical trials and consultancies, are handled by Research Support.

27 July 2012: Insurance Renewal The University renews its insurance policies on 1 August 2012. Please refer to the Travel and Liability pages to ensure you have the latest versions of the documents for the 2012-13 period. 31 May 2012: Travel to Cuba Our broker has been prohibited from placing travel cover for trips to Cuba. If you or any colleagues are currently in, or planning travel to Cuba please contact the Insurance Team immediately. |
The Self Assurance Process requires Departmental Administrators to comply with the following:
- All forthcoming plans, events or purchases, which involve risk to the University in the way of property, equipment, vehicles or incurrence of costs, and all incidences, situations and possibilities which could give rise to an insurance claim, are always notified to the Insurance Team.
- All claims are notified to the Insurance Team in accordance with the claim procedures as stated by the insurance process and policies.
