The Payroll Team deals with all departments and divisions of the University and is responsible for the timely and accurate payment of all University salaries and wages, also providing advice and guidance on expenses and benefits and managing the University Relocation scheme Scheme.

August 2011 revision of University salary scales: All non-clinical staff (1 February 2012)
The latest salary scales are now available. A pay uplift of a consolidated, flat-rate increase of £150 for each full-time employee (pro rata for part-time staff) has been made with retrospective effect from 1 August 2011. It will be implemented in the February 2012 payroll, together with back pay.
USS contribution increases from 1 October 2011
The USS member contribution has increased from 6.35% to 7.5% from 1 October. This will result in a change to take-home pay from this month onwards, visible on your October pay slip. More information can be found in Important information for USS members

Main and Pensioners Payroll
Approximately 10,000 employees are paid each month via Main Payroll. The Pensioners Payroll manages approximately 2,500 OSPS pensioners.
Casual payroll
On average about 200 payments are made each week to individuals working on a short-term or irregular basis. The Casual Payroll section is also responsible for review of employment status and prepares annual reports to HM Revenue & Customs of any taxable benefits provided to staff by the University.
Important changes to the Casual Payroll have been introduced with effect from 6 April 2010 following a recent directive from HM Revenue & Customs.
