Although we remind new members on the letter we send them it would be helpful if you could also make sure new employees, particularly those on short contracts, are aware of the severe effect joining Salary Exchange for Pension Contributions can have on refund calculations. See the leaving OSPS part of the members’ section for more details.
It is important that new employees are aware that opting out of Salary Exchange is not the same as opting out of OSPS. They can opt out of Salary Exchange while still enjoying the benefits of OSPS.
