Foreign graduate students
Foreign graduate students (non-EEA) who have the agreement of their college and/or supervisor may work for up to 20 hours during term time (except where a work placement is required as a necessary part of the course of study) or full time during vacation do not need work permits. The student may not pursue a career by filling a permanent full-time vacancy.
Make sure that you are complying with work permit regulations if payments are to students from outside the EEA. If such payments are made, make sure that a copy of the work permit is kept within the department. All enquiries regarding work permits should be directed to the ‘Work Permits Desk’ on 01865 (2) 89904 or (2) 89912.
