Oxford Customisations and Personalisation
Overview
The main difference in the Oxford customisations between the previously-used Office 2000 and the currently-used Office 2007 is the change of emphasis from delivering the house style to allowing personal choice. The delivery of Office 2007 has given the individual user more flexibility in their set up and use of Office applications. To accommodate this, changes have taken place to the way the Word customisations are delivered. In 2007, the default blank document is the standard Microsoft one. The blank document which came with Word 2000, and which followed house style as it was in the year 2009, is available by basing documents on the Oxford House Style template. These changes allow users to personalise their default blank document template to best suit their own work needs. Note, however, that there are rules and conventions regarding University branding (restricted access) and University writing and style.
