Linking procedures to departmental objectives
As part of the University’s planning process, each department will have a strategic plan including objectives for the department as a whole from which individual priorities and objectives can be derived.
It should be straightforward to translate the departmental objectives into specific objectives for the Administrator and to include these specific objectives in the initial induction and subsequent probationary review discussions; and often specific objectives will have been considered during the recruitment process. Indeed much of the department’s strategic plan will depend on the personal performance of its Administrator.
