Calculating holiday entitlement
Departments may not vary the University's approved leave entitlement other than in discussion with Personnel Services.
A holiday calculator (see documents) is available on-line to assist in the calculation of leave. This calculator may be used to calculate leave for part-timers, starters, leavers, term-time only workers, casual workers and someone changing their hours during the holiday year. The calculator should be used in conjunction with the other guidance in this section for the relevant staff group and only in situations where the standard terms and conditions for the grade are applicable.

The standard entitlement is to 38 days inclusive of public holidays and any fixed days of closure (pro rata if part-time).
Provisions for certain academic-related staff on Whitley Council scales are given below.
